National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), the newest Smithsonian museum, was established in 2003, construction was started in 2012 and is nearing its completion on DC's National Mall. It was designed by a British-Ghanaian architect David Adjaye. The museum will officially open on September 24, 2016 with a ribbon cutting ceremony by President Obama. It is dedicated to African-American history and culture. The exterior of this structure consists of three square boxes on top of a glass and steel base. Geometrical patterns from iron grilles found in historic African American communities are incorporated on thin screens of the outward leaning walls of the three squares.
I enjoy experiencing moments in time and space that attract my attention and preserving them in photographic media. After retiring from a career as a medical science researcher and administrator, I've immersed myself fully into photography. I enjoy most photography and specialize in landscape, cityscape, abstract, architecture and travel photography.
